A packed celebration at Kippen Village Hall marked the successful completion of an ambitious fundraising campaign that has transformed the much-loved community venue for generations to come.
Around 100 guests gathered at the Hall to celebrate the remarkable achievement of raising more than £208,750 in just 18 months — exceeding the original £200,000 target and securing the future of the Hall for the next century.
The campaign was led by volunteer Chair Frances Carlaw, who praised the extraordinary effort of the Hall committee, volunteers, funders, local organisations, contractors, suppliers and the many regular users of the Hall whose support made the project possible. Serving as the heart of the village for well over 100 years, the newly refurbished Hall has already sparked renewed community energy, with increased bookings, new clubs and classes, and more than 700 visitors and users attending every month.
The revitalised venue is now seeing hires increase by 29% since completion of the refurbishment works, with organisers determined to build even further momentum in the months ahead.
In another significant milestone, the Hall has appointed its first-ever caretaker to oversee day-to-day operations — allowing the volunteer committee to focus on long-term growth, development and expanding community use.
Frances Carlaw said:
“We are thrilled to have now reached our current fundraising goal and are now focussing on making more happen. Our hires are up by 29% since the completion of the refurbishments and we want that to keep rising.
The Hall is fit for purpose and everyone is welcome to visit and see what we have done. It is a beautiful all-purpose venue and we are very proud to have it in our village.”
With fresh facilities, growing participation and renewed ambition, Kippen Village Hall is once again buzzing at the centre of village life — ready to serve the community for another hundred years.
