The annual Whist Evening in aid of Cancer Research was held at the Village Hall earlier this month and proved to be a great success. A record-breaking total of £6,665 was raised.
The appeal, now known as the Kippen Local Committee Cancer Appeal, was originally established as The Dr. Railton Scott Cancer Appeal, named after the much-loved village doctor. Since 1966, fundraising has been organised by The Kippen Cancer Aid Committee, which continues to run the annual village raffle and Whist Drive at the Hall.
